Male Sexual Problems
Male sexual problems are sexual dysfunctions that prevent men from reaching satisfaction during a sexual activity and deviate the normal sexual response cycle which consists of four phases (excitement, plateau, orgasm and resolution) from its natural and normal pattern.
Sexual problems in men are common because 31% of male population suffers a degree of difficulty during different sexual activities. It is also an issue that many men avoid to discuss, ignoring the fact that the majority of sexual problems in men are treatable. Men sexual problems can result from physical and psychological causes like diabetes, blood vessels diseases, neurological disorders, hormonal dysfunctions, alcoholism and drug abuse. Stress, depression and anxiety must be eliminated from a healthy life style for better effects in reducing sexual problems.
The most frequent men sexual problems are low sexual desire, erectile and ejaculation dysfunctions and the small penis syndrome. The small penis syndrome is a term used to describe excessive worries and complaints about the size of the male penis. It usually appears in men who, medically, have an average sized penis, but feel like they don’t have the dimensions they aim for. Specialists have concluded that this type of syndrome is caused by obsessive anxiety, psychosis or body dysmorphic disorder. Treatment for a small penis problem usually consists of psychological counseling with adjacent medication. Some extreme treatments focus on surgery, but doctors do not recommend this alternative because, with effort and moral support, the problem can be treated by guidance. Men need to understand that there is nothing anatomically wrong with their penis, so psychological and social counseling should prevail over medical interventions.
In treating male sexual issues, education and communication inside the couple could help men outgrow their fears about sexual performance. Most sexual dysfunction can be treated because most of them are reversible conditions that don’t clinically affect the body. A small penis problem is one of those conditions, because it develops on anxiety, stress and fear – symptoms that men aren’t capable of chasing away from their life. Men who think that they have a small penis are psychological rigid and obsessed. They think that they are incapable of offering pleasure to a woman during intercourse because of their small genitalia, regardless of the fact that they don’t have any prove.
Men who are bothered by the size of their penis need to eliminate all the wrong beliefs that they might have. They should learn proper penis measurement techniques and discuss the issue with their partners. Specialists recommend variety in sexual life and an exposure therapy, during which men can learn to confront male sexual problems by experimenting different sexual activities and learn the ones that best suit their sexuality and penis size.
